pinwheels + happy long weekend!

Fact: 938,000 free daily papers are distributed daily in Madrid. (Can you imagine what this number is in New York? London?!) In an effort to make beauty out of the ordinary, Una Sombra Reciclada (Recycled Shadow) is a playful installation on the streets of Alicante, Spain. Isn’t it incredible? The artists, part of Meva, said, ‘the windmills are organized to provide shadow with a simple changing pattern, each of them rotates and balances on its own to the rhythm of the gentle summer breeze.’ I’m inspired!

What are your plans for this extra long weekend? I’m off work today (hooray!) and we are going to my brother’s (ok, technically brother-in-law’s) wedding! I’m so excited to celebrate with family! I’m also kind of in shock that it has been almost a year since we were doing the same thing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend soaking up the sunshine. Thanks for reading this week and for your thoughtful comments. I appreciate each and every one of them! xoxo

  3. Those pinwheels are magical-what a clever use of what’s essentially trash at the end of the day! Enjoy the long weekend and the wedding, and tell us all about it when you get back!
