With all of the Christmas decor ideas everywhere on the Internet (OMG), I decided to keep things simple this year. A trip to the thrift store and the dollar store later, I was able to make our fireplace a little more festive…

And did I mention that Charlie Brown tree was $7 at the thrift store?! Major score. I started wrapping tinsel around the branches and I’ll admit I got a little carried away. We’re probably never going to be able to get it off, ha! I then added some length to the felt ball garland that I made last year and draped it on the tree. Behind the tree is the first DIY project that hubs and I ever did together when we were dating. We spray painted an old mirror and turned it into a chalkboard. I think I’ll always love it for sentimental reasons. As it got colder, hubs drew a fire on the chalkboard to make it feel extra cozy.

The jingle bell garland is from Terrain and it’s so much fun to jingle. Lastly, I took our small jar collection and filled the jars with more festive items like glitter ornaments and tinsel. So easy and cute!
Do you have holiday decorations up? Any fun projects? I’d love to hear!
xoxo

I love the jar of tinsel!! This is a great set up. I have made a few garlands and most the ornaments on the tree. I love the handmade look, plus, I love the satisfaction of doing it yourself! :)

I love everything! I’m jealous of all your natural light, makes my house seem so dark.

Tinsel in a jar?! That’s perfect! Tinsel on the tree is such a mess (and the cats eat it…).
