How was your weekend? Nick was gone fishin’ this weekend (literally). He went to visit his family and go fishing (catch and release:) in his favorite creeks. While he was gone, I admired the pretty flowers he gave me but I sure am glad to have him back. :)
I don’t know why I haven’t shared this piece of art before, but it was one of the sweetest wedding gifts we received. Nick’s cousin Carol used our engagement photos (above) and a night spent at our place drinking tea as inspiration to create this insanely accurate drawing of us. It’s a scene of us and our reflection in our tea kettle on the stovetop. Isn’t it unbelievable? I just know we’ll have it in our home forever and can remember what we looked like “back then”… :)
The reason I bring this up is because the extraordinary person that made this, Carol, is a film student at UW-Milwaukee near us and she’s creating her first narrative film! Carol is ambitious, inspiring, and so, so talented. Check out the Kickstarter page and sweet video about the film, called Things Found on the Ground, and follow on Twitter if you’d like! She is filming this summer and I’m so excited to help out. xo

Just read about this gift on La La Lovely. It is the sweetest! How priceless and thoughtful. I just might borrow the idea for the weddings of one of my best friends… :)
