new art

Wall art is one of my favorite gifts to receive. It’s something that I can’t get enough of, and it’s fun to receive something that I wouldn’t have normally purchased for myself.

I thought I’d share some new art that I finally hung in our place. The three prints on the left are from Citizens for Optimism and as you know, I just adore them. The print that says  ”Oh I’m sorry, I was just taking life seriously for a second there” cracks me up! And the beautiful, mysterious print on the right is by Lost in Jungle.

Nothing like a little fresh wall art to change a space and add some personality, especially if you’re a renter! In an ideal world, our walls would be a stark white to match the white paper, but oh well. :)

After I hung these prints, I read about a brilliant idea: hang simple white modern shelves around the house and use them as a way to move art around as your mood strikes. Don’t you just love that idea?! I’m definitely going to do that at our next place.

Oh, and by the way, “you don’t need to sleep to dream…”

P.S. The pillow is from Anthropologie and the succulent (one of my faves) is a burro’s tail. Oh, and that precious dog drawing in the corner? Nick drew it when he was eleven. ; )

  2. The shelves ideas is so good, we had that in our house in the US above our couch and I liked it a lot. But now that we are renting a flat, mark is all weird about putting holes in the walls so shelves are not idea. But yes, it’s on my list for a house again!

  3. Love this! Where are the frames from? Currently looking to make a gallery in my hallway but frames are so expensive.

The frames are just cheap ones from Michael’s but they work!

  5. I’ve been wanting to put up shelves for my art! Love it when you have that “aha” moment. :) I stare at one wall while working all day, and I’d like to be able to switch things up.
