I drink a lot of water. And I mean a lot. A few years ago I started seeing a natural path doctor and I discovered I was dehydrated. Apparently it’s pretty common and most of the population is dehydrated. Ever since then I’ve always been overly conscious about if I’m drinking enough. I can tell SUCH a difference in how I’m feeling according to how well I’m hydrated. Dehydration can cause weakness, dizziness, and confusion, to name a few symptoms.

Anyway, sometimes plain water gets a little old and it’s nice to mix it up. Here are three fresh recipes that are perfect for summer. Plus, these healthy, hydrating options need little to no sugar!

Cucumber Mint Water

2 cups filtered water
4-5 cubes of ice
5-6 thin cucumber slices
2-3 fresh mint leaves

Combine filtered water, ice, and cucumber slices and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Garnish with fresh mint and enjoy!

Agua Fresca

2 cups filtered water
1/2 cup ice
1 cup fresh fruit (I used strawberries)
If you’d like, add stevia (sugar free version) or simple syrup, to taste. I still enjoyed it without either!
1 slice of lemon or lime

Blend all of the ingredients and enjoy immediately! Garnish with lemon or lime.

Basil Lemonade

Lemonade:
1/4 cup squeezed lemon
2 cups filtered water
stevia (sugar free version) or symple syrup, to taste
4-6 fresh basil leaves, sliced
2 basil leaves for garnish

Combine all ingredients and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy!

Hope you enjoy these! :)
