it’s coming

Remember that whole redesign I went on and on about a while ago? Well, I just wanted to say, it’s coming. The whole process unexpectedly turned into a journey of self-evaluation and self-discovery. Deciding and committing to a new direction, a new look, a new online visual identity is a scary thing. And doing it yourself is a whole other task in itself. Through the process I’ve learned lots, realized doubts, found clarity, and gained many grey hairs. I’m realizing that going my own way takes patience, a whole lot of hard work, self-awareness and confidence to boot.

I’ve never felt such a burden about a decision like this before. As a dreamer and a dabbler, it’s been hard for me to take this next step and really commit to something. I think I’ve been afraid. Time to put that behind me now, and before this year is over!

The new site coming together wonderfully and I can’t wait for you to see it. I designed it and while I was planning to do the development as well, I decided to step down and wave my white flag. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to connect with Dennise Saxton to help (we met back at Blogshop). She’s been so wonderful to work with and I’m beyond grateful for her help!

We’re nearing launch date and I’ll keep you posted. :)

Hooray for progress!

xoxo

  1. Sounds exciting and I can’t wait to see what you came up with! I certainly understand how something so seemingly small, like a blog redesign, can really make you re-evaluate and reconsider so many things about yourself. It’s a very strange (but fun!) little journey of further figuring yourself out.

  6. So excited for the relaunch, and to see all your hard work! Redesigns I think are inherently horrible, but boy does it feel amazing when they’re done! Mostly…

  7. I’m so excited for you and the relaunch. I hear what you’re saying about self discovery and digging deep. (I feel like I might need to do the same very soon, as well.) I hope you’ll continue to share your journey as I find it very helpful. Sending you lots of good energy. I’ll be watching this space. Good luck, Colleen!

  8. I can totally relate to this. Not only did I redesign my site but I changed the name and domain. It was a huge learning experience and exercise in figuring out what it is that I want to do and share and also being ok of letting go of what I already had built. can’t wait to see the redesign.
