I came across the work of Neil Tasker and was amazed by his lettering design and illustration! Aren’t these incredible? Another great talent coming out of Michigan!
Be sure to check out his website and portfolio on Dribbble.

As I’m working on my rebranding, I’ve been studying typography like crazy. While I’ve been looking at a lot of typefaces and branding, I always love looking to the past for inspiration. Old signage is great inspiration for type, color, and design. Most of these vintage signs were probably created before graphic design became such a big industry and I just love the simplicity. These photographs by Martin Garfinkel capture some great vintage signs around the U.S.
I’m also super excited for a book and documentary coming out called Sign Painters, created by Milwaukee-based artist Faythe Levine and Chicago director Sam Macon. The book comes out in October and the documentary will follow in 2013.
I’ll be sharing more about my rebranding soon to give you a sneak peek!

Happy Friday! I am so, so excited to share this DREAM JOB interview! Meet Molly Jacques, a talented illustrator and calligrapher from Michigan. I first shared her work in a Monday Moodboard post and ever since then I’ve wanted to learn more about the artist behind those beautiful letters and designs! In addition to freelance work, Molly also happens to run a beautiful online shop. Many thanks to Molly for sharing and hope you enjoy this insightful interview and peek into her work!

That’s right. Because you can.
I’m so inspired by Jeff Roger’s lettering work. It’s playful, inventive, and fun. I especially love these designs.
If you’re in need of some more inspiration and encouragement, or just a little kick in the butt (like me), check out this awesome short video from Danielle LaPorte.
