I absolutely love this line of hand-lettered cards and products from Sparrow Nest Script. As I work on chalkboard lettering during my job, I would love to develop my own signature hand-drawn fonts. Hopefully I’ll get there! : )

A great time was had by all at Art vs. Craft, a handmade market in my very own Milwaukee. I went with two friends and we arrived super early to make sure we got our free “buy handmade” totes and we just love them! Plus it was fun to see all the artists arriving and setting up. Creative energy was buzzing everywhere. The event was filled with seriously inspiring people and I discovered some talented new artists. If you follow my Instagram, then you may have seen a few photos from the day, and of course I had to share a few more here. I have a serious weakness when it comes to handmade goods, and it’s especially thrilling to meet the maker at your time of purchase! The whole experience just made my heart swell!

After Renegade and now this, I’m seriously hooked on handmade markets! There’s a few more coming up in the Midwest, and I’m really tempted to go, even if my wallet may not agree. I figure it’s great practice for when I have a booth of my own some day, right? : )
Photos of some of my favorites (from top): I Am Home, Erin Paisley, Colette Paperie, Tartella, and Mikinora. Please check out the full list of artists here!

I am absolutely thrilled to announce a new interview series on Inspired to Share that I’ve had on my mind for many moons. It’s called DREAM JOB, and I will be interviewing creative business owners that have chased after their dreams and now work their own “Dream Job”. Through blogging, I’m amazed at how I continually discover new artists, designers, and creatives of all kinds that manage their own successful businesses. It’s inspiring and motivating. As I strive to grow in my own creative journey, my hope is to soak up tips + advice from the creative people I admire while making friends along the way. I do hope you enjoy it!

First up is Man vs. George, an eco-friendly design studio and etsy shop. I first discovered them while visiting a local brick and mortar store, Juxt Home Baby and instantly loved their crisp graphics and clever designs on greeting cards. I also loved that they live in the cutest area near me and Ryan and I went to the same college. I had so much fun visiting with Ryan and Tilney and they were kind enough to welcome me into their charming home. It was a mid-century feast for the eyes, and I couldn’t stop examining the details. I felt like I was shooting a sneak peak for Design*Sponge, which, by the way, is a pretty amazing feeling.
We’ll start out with the interview and then the home tour. Enjoy!!

I just love that hand embroidery is coming back. Not that I was alive during it’s original fame, but because it’s pretty and I’d like to learn! : ) Here’s both some vintage & modern inspiration…

What do you think? Do you know how or want to learn? xo
P.S. Exciting news coming up this afternoon!
