madrid home

I’m feeling fancy. Isn’t this home in Madrid is amazing? I love all the bright colors, texture, and modern style. I’m especially obsessed with the bedroom : that bright pattern and the genius idea of mixing two different polka dots!

How was your weekend? We had a great one and I went a little Instagram crazy. :) I’ll be sharing some photos from our hiking day trip soon!

Have a great Monday!

vagabond’s house

Happy Friday! It turns out I was a little too ambitious and I didn’t quite finish the video from our trip so I’ll be sharing it next week. But meanwhile, I’m completely in love with this house. When I dream of us living in California, this is pretty darn close to what I picture. A bungalow filled with plants and a space where outdoor and indoor living blends seamlessly together. I’d say this is the perfect home for a vagabond at heart. :)

Those plants! Like I said. They also have an amazing collection surfboards (they design them for a living), bicycles, and skateboards. Who needs a car?

Oh, and the inside is pretty rad, too. This creative couple lives in San Francisco. You can view more photos here!

Some day, some day.

the jungalow

Have you seen the home of Justina Blakeney? She calls it the Jungalow and it’s basically amazing. Here is how she describes it:

“Our space is all about creative reuse, personalization, vivid colors, bold patterns, worldly and thrifted finds, and lots and lots of plants–Jungalow style is tropical and bohemian, very vintage and very cozy. Jungalow is about bringing the eclecticism of nature and the wild–indoors.”

When can I move in? Check out her blog as well; I’m a big fan!

houseboat, yard sale, + happy weekend

I’m in love with this Seattle houseboat…it’s so picturesque! Lately I can’t get enough time outdoors and this looks like the perfect life balance, don’t you think? :)

In other news, we’re having a yard sale this weekend! Remember how I want to go minimalist? The time is now! If you’re in the Milwaukee area, feel free to email me for details! It will be all day tomorrow and it will be a fun day in the sunshine! I asked Nick if we could make pitchers of mojitos for the sale and he replied, “It’s a yard sale, not a party.” Ha! I get a little too excited for these things…

Have a happy weekend friends! On Monday I’m headed to Chicago for a really fun opportunity that will bring some great changes to the blog – can’t wait to share more soon!

xoxo

portugal escape

Need I say more? I long for this kind of open air. Located outside Lisbon, this home might just be the perfect escape.

clingstone mansion

I recently stumbled upon the Clingstone Mansion in Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay. Maybe it’s well-known on the east coast, but  I had never heard of it and was instantly mesmerized.  The mansion is over 100 years old and is a labor of love between family and friends, owned by Boston architect Henry Wood. It looks just magical and filled with character. Plus, those views!

I love the concept of shared spaces between families and friends. In my dream world, we would own a quaint summer home on the beach that we share with family and friends. All would be welcome and Nick and I would cook up amazing fresh meals. Gotta dream big, right? Maybe someday you can come to a dinner party! : )
