I realized that I never shared photos from my sister’s baby shower in October! It was so nice to spend time with family and friends. The shower was a woodlands theme…so sweet to celebrate a baby boy! Here are a few of the details…

I looked high and low for the cutest little animals for the table and discovered Schleich animals as the winner. They’re super cute and high quality – not the kind you would spray paint. ;) I also collected little odds and ends from the yard for the table.
Didn’t the cake turn out cute? That was probably my favorite part. I made a simple little paper bunting that was extra sweet with the animals on top. And the individual French toast with a little syrup to dip was such a hit! Plus those apple cider doughnuts were perfect for Fall…yum!
We also painted little mini canvases for Kelsey to use to decorate the baby’s room, which was simple and fun for guests.
It was a wonderful party and I’m so glad we got to celebrate my sister Kelsey. Sometimes I still can’t believe she’s having a baby. Cannot wait to meet her little boy and spoil him as an auntie!

I’m so excited to tell you all about a little project I’ve been working on…I’m now a contributor for a new website called The Neighborhood! The Neighborhood is all about investing in your neighborhood and building community, wherever you may live. It’s such a refreshing concept in the age of technology and disconnect, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it! They have an awesome new team of contributors and I’m honored to have great company.
My first post is a simple idea: giving guests favors for Thanksgiving! It’s a sweet way to thank guests and make for an extra festive dinner.
Check out the full post over on The Neighborhood!
P.S. If you’ve heard of The Craft Pack from Susan and Alison, they’ve been teaming up with The Neighborhood, too! And be sure to check out their new book for handmade gift ideas: A Hip Handmade Holiday

Guess what? My sister and brother-in-law are having a baby! Kelsey is my only sibling and it’s the first baby in our family! I may already be an aunt on Nick’s side but I’m still super excited! It’s going to be so much fun. They live in Boston so we’re excited to visit soon!
I thought I’d share the invite I designed for her baby shower! They call the baby “bunny” and they’re having a boy so we kept the palette soft, warm, and neutral. :) (I blurred some of the text for privacy.)
Congrats Kelsey, I’m so excited for you! :)

I’m so excited to share the photos from our Blogs & Books event today! I had so much fun putting together the decor for this event. We read the book The Happiness Project so I wanted the decor to be bright and, well, happy! You may recognize my DIY confetti tablecloth and we had fun putting together an ombré balloon wall! We served flavored lemonades, fruit, and spicey sweet pecans from Treat Bake Shop. We talked about the book and Sara demonstrated how to wrap books with vintage scarves – such a great gift! We also gave away pretty Smock notebooks from Monograham as well as personal copies of Gretchen’s “Secrets of Adulthood.”

A big thank you to all of our Milwaukee sponsors! It was a joy working with each of them:
Fresh Design Flowers
Marisa Seguin
Monograham Paper & Gifts
Pabst Theater
Treat Bake Shop
Thanks to those that came out! :) You can read Sara’s recap here, as well!

Happy weekend! Yep, I’ve got parties on the brain. :) I’m finishing up some projects and getting ready for Sunday. Some things have definitely fallen to the wayside this week. I’ve got so many plates in the air that one of them was bound to fall this week. That’s what next week is for, right?
Also, I almost forgot to share! I was on Amy Moore’s blog this week participating in her ‘Objets de Valeur’ series. I’ve loved getting to know Amy and she is a seriously talented graphic designer. Her blog is full of inspiration so head on over to check out the feature and then get lost in her beautiful blog! :)
Have a happy, colorful weekend!

Happy Friday! I wanted to remind any local readers about my event this Sunday with another Milwaukee blog, Cream City and Sugar, called Blogs & Books! Above is a sneak peek of something I made for the event. :) We went and looked at the space yesterday and I’m so excited. We worked with some wonderful local businesses and I can’t wait to tell you all about them. We’ll have drinks + snacks (here’s a hint from Sarah) and are looking forward to chatting about Gretchen Rubin’s book, The Happiness Project. Even if you didn’t read the book, it will be a relaxed event and we’d love to meet you. We’ll also be sharing some DIY tips and hosting a giveaway!
For those nearby, hope to see you on Sunday! Details below…Please RSVP to the event on our Facebook page. And remember street parking is free on Sundays!
xoxo

P.S. Gretchen’s new book, Happier at Home, is coming out on September 4th! I can’t wait to read it.
