afternoon with anda + etre gloves

A while back I got to spend an afternoon with my friend Anda. Remember her Dream Job interview? Well, we finally met in person and it was such a nice afternoon in Madison. We had a lunch, went for a walk, and then enjoyed some afternoon tea. She was sweet enough to take a few photos that I wanted to share with you. Anda even took some of the photos on film…how awesome is that?

I love this one she took in front of this blue door!

I also have to tell you about these awesome gloves I’ve been wearing this winter. They’re from etre, a design agency turned shop inspired by the understated but characterful traditions of British workwear. Their products look to the past and each piece is beautifully crafted in the British Isles, using responsibly sourced British materials. I just love their aesthetic (check out their awesome lookbook!).

The missing thumb and index fingertips allow the freedom to text, Instagram, and tweet, all while staying warm! It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Great Britain, but I love thinking about that wonderful place (and those accents!) while I wear my gloves.

If you live somewhere cold like me, you can never have too many gloves. Plus, they’re now on sale! I love the stripes. Check out etre’s shop if you’d like!

Thanks so much to etre for the gloves and Anda Marie for these photos!

Spring may be around the corner, but we just had another snowstorm here! Hope you’re staying warm. :)

holiday paper goods

As a lover of paper, I couldn’t let the season slip away without sharing some of my favorite paper goods for the  holidays. There are so many beautiful choices and the fabulous Rifle Paper Co. always makes the list, but here are a few more finds. I’m a firm believer of the details and wrapping gifts might be my favorite part of gift giving. Whether it’s screen-printed wrapping, a beautiful little gift tag, or a sweet card, these are sure to make an impression!

Which one is your favorite? Happy Wednesday, friends!

P.S. Later on I’ll be sharing some simple DIY gift wrap ideas, too. :)

GIFT GUIDE // for the foodie + hostess

A gift guide for the foodie and hostess…this is one of my favorite categories. As I get more and more into food + cooking, I find myself over the moon about the idea of a new bowl, cutting board, serving utensils, even the simplest items related to the kitchen, and I think any cook can relate. I guess it’s because it’s where I spend a lot of my time…so I love buying gifts in this category because I know they will be used often. (And hopefully the next time you’re over for dinner.)

For your friend or family member that loves to cook, enjoy good food, and host dinner parties…I hope you find these ideas helpful!

gift guide // for the boys

I debated whether to do gift guides this year, but after hearing some enthusiasm on Twitter, I decided to go for it! I’m excited to round up some ideas to share with you all. I can’t believe the holidays are upon us but I have to tell you I’m ready to embrace them in full force. Plus, I’ve got some fun plans for the holidays this year on the blog! In addition to gift guides, I’ll be sharing some DIY decorations and simple gift wrap ideas.

I thought I’d start the guide with the most difficult category (for me at least!): boys. I’m used to buying things that are pretty and gifts for men need to be specific, maybe useful or clever. At first I was clueless, but I’ve had a few lessons since inheriting a husband, two brothers-in-law, and father-in-law. :) This year, I found some great gift ideas that I think they would enjoy. Nick agrees that these are some things he would like!

I hope these give you some new ideas for the boys in your life! Happy shopping!

xoxo
