fashion for home living room reveal | Inspired to Share

So we’ve had some pretty exciting news around our house! I have been dreaming of a new sofa for ages but everything I liked was out of our budget. But then I discovered Fashion for Home…a modern furniture company that aims to make designer furniture affordable for everyone. Each piece is made to order and guaranteed for quality. Perhaps the best part is that they have free shipping directly from manufacturers in the US! Fashion for Home has a wide selection and it was so hard to choose…we ended up choosing the Portobello Sofa and could not be happier with it! I’m so impressed by the quality and this new change has completely transformed our space.

I thought it would be fun to also give a little updated tour of our living room as well. This was a great excuse to spruce things up and I just love how everything has come together. As renters, our space isn’t perfect (I dream of hard wood floors!), but I still adore the charm in the details of our place and it feels like home. I think we’ve really made the most of our space…I’ve been very thrifty, purchasing many items secondhand…making our new sofa even more exciting! My style is continuously evolving but right now I think it looks pretty “vintage modern”…I love how the space feels cozy yet clean, and a little bohemian with all of our plants! I hope you enjoy the tour…I’ll share sources below!

So what do you think? I just love the textured fabric and clean lines. It’s my new favorite spot in our house and as you can see it’s perfectly bright for reading- something I’m trying to do a lot more of!  (Also, sidenote, if you need a new book recommendation, I just finished The History of Love, and it was so good!

Creating a home is really about making the most of what you have, don’t you think? Hope you’re having a great Monday so far!

xoxo

Our Christmas Cards

I’m so excited to share our Christmas cards with you today! I wanted to send cards this year since we missed last year, and when Pear Tree Greetings contacted me, I was intrigued. They have some really fresh designs and use thick 100% recycled card stock. Plus, Pear Tree has an awesome referral program that donates to CaringBridge, a nonprofit that provides online tools for people experiencing a life-changing health event.

There are so many cards to choose from and I went with the simple Merry & Bright photo cards. Here are some more detail shots of our cards. Their site is super easy to use with options for customization. We took a simple photo in front of our mantle with our little Charlie Brown tree that we just adore. I pretty much have to bribe Nick to take photos, but I think these turned out pretty cute. :) And I just love the graphic pattern on the back of the cards!

What do you think? If you’re interested in using Pear Tree for your holiday cards this year, I’d highly recommend them! Be sure to click here for their referral program, and you’ll get $20 off, $20 for a friend, and $20 goes to CaringBridge. Sweet deal, huh?

A big thanks to Pear Tree Greetings for our cards this year. We’re so excited to send them out!

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!

xoxo

happy july! // ship & shape

Happy July! The best summer month is here and I’m ready for fireworks, bonfires, time by the lake, and maybe even a camping trip! Another month brings new opportunity for growth. I’ll be launching my online portfolio and I cannot wait to finally cross that off the list! Stay tuned.

In honor of the new month, I wanted to share the incredible new summer collection from my friends at SHIP & SHAPE (remember their Dream Job interview?). They do such good work (just look at those dreamy photos!) and everything in this collection is stunning! I’m loving the bright colors and triangles. I could seriously go for every single item!

Be sure to take a look at their new collection!

Also, a big welcome to July sponsors!

art & fashion mini-series // 01

(Image credits: Tory BurchAmanda Catherine Designs)

One of my lovely sponsors, Amanda Catherine Designs, is launching a fun new set of prints this summer all inspired by fashion. I love Amanda’s bright, playful style, and her shop is full of affordable art prints with inspiring words and colorful patterns. We decided to do a mini-series here on the blog; I’ll be sharing the fashion inspiration behind Amanda’s design on the day each print is released!

The first one is inspired by a dreamy Tory Burch Rolene top and I just love Amanda’s interpretation with this “let your mind wander” print. Wouldn’t it look so cute in a workspace?

Here’s a little bit about the series from Amanda:
“I was looking at all of the incredible prints and color combinations coming out this season and thought it could be a fun challenge to translate some of my favorite pieces into prints. Some of my finished designs came out as more of a literal translation while others were an abstract interpretation of what I was seeing. What first drew me to most of the pieces I chose were the colors. For each design I tried to pull ideas from every style present this season… retro prints, neons, florals, and tribal designs. While all are very different, each piece gifted me with an idea and I love how they are turning out. This is the most fun I have had designing so far.”

Our mini-series includes three prints and will run through the end of summer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Be sure to check out Amanda Catherine Designs on Etsy!
