Mother’s Day card

mother's day free printable | Inspired to Share

Happy Mother’s Day! To all of you mamas at heart…I hope you have a wonderful day.

If you need a card for today, I created this free printable for The Neighborhood. Simply print, cut, and write!

My heart is full as I’m so grateful for my own mom and my mother-in-law. It’s also been a joy to see my sister become a mother, as well!

I truly think every mama is a hero. This world wouldn’t be the same without you all.

Head on over to The Neighborhood to download this free card! I know I sure don’t thank my mom enough.

let’s go fly a kite

easy DIY kite (free printable!) | Inspired to Share

Who’s ready for spring? And by Spring I don’t mean gloomy April showers, like we’ve been having in Milwaukee. I mean the real deal with warm temperatures and bright sun. With all of this rain, I have to remind myself it’s not like this everywhere. So if you’ve already got warmth and sun, I hope you’re enjoying it to the fullest!

To celebrate the start of Spring, why not take an afternoon to go fly a kite? If you’re up for a quick and easy project, I made a free printable for The Neighborhood to make your own kite! It would be a fun project for kids or adults.

Head on over to The Neighborhood to check it out and make your own kite!

Hope you enjoy!

home office organization

tips for home office organization | Inspired to Share

Oh, organization. It’s is a constant work in progress, don’t you think? Especially when it comes to a home office, organization takes time and patience.

Spring is the perfect time to start fresh. I recently redesigned my workspace and reorganized. It was a big task and I’m so relieved to have everything officially in it’s place…I really think it helps me get more done. Staying organized requires consistent effort, and while I go through ebbs and flows, most of the time my desk too much of a disaster zone. ;)

I recently wrote a post for The Neighborhood with tips I found especially helpful for home office organization.

Check it out here. Hope you’re inspired to get organized! I’ll be sharing more photos of my workspace soon.

grilled cheese bar

grilled cheese bar for dinner or a party | Inspired to Share

One food of my childhood that will probably always be close to my heart is grilled cheese. We have a pretty amazing local cheese selection in Wisconsin and while I try not to have them too often, they are still one of my favorite meals. I love making them extra fancy with lots of toppings (avocados are a must!).

I wrote an article for The Neighborhood with more ideas to make a grilled cheese “bar” for a fun family dinner, or even a party! Read more here!

plants

indoor-plants-improve-air-quality-2

So have I mentioned how much I love plants? I think I may have. Maybe it’s because we don’t yet have kids or pets, but I feel like our plants are our little babies… we have so much fun taking care of them. I love how they make our home feel so cheerful and cozy! Even beyond aesthetics, though, it’s nice to know that our plants clean the air, too.

I wrote an article for The Neighborhood about indoor air pollution and easy plants that improve air quality! I’m excited to share more about this little green passion of mine and I’d love for you to check it out!

So what are you waiting for? Start a plant family. Read more over at The Neighborhood!

organization

tech apps to organize your home | Inspired to Share

Confession: I love organization. It’s actually my favorite way to procrastinate (along with cleaning, of course). I’ve always enjoyed creating order…whether it’s cleaning, organizing, rearranging…I was the little girl with a room where everything had it’s place. One of my Mom’s favorite stories is when a new friend came over to play and I ran downstairs all distressed and told her, “Mom, she’s moving everything in my room! I don’t know what to do!”

I think I’ve loosened up a bit over time and I’m now a little more comfortable with small doses of chaos (I think I’m subconsciously trying to prepare myself for motherhood and the constant messes some day…), but let’s just say order is still my BFF. I think maybe part of being a homebody is that I’m constantly wanting to improve my surroundings. If I look at something that I don’t like or doesn’t have a purpose, it’s time to get rid of it! Or if something isn’t quite working in a room, I’ll try a new arrangement. My husband may throw out the term “OCD” occasionally, but I know deep down he loves this quality about me.

Anyway, I wrote a couple posts for The Neighborhood that you might find helpful. One is about how organization relieves stress. Like I mentioned, organization is my favorite form of procrastination and even though completing the tasks on my list are the ultimate stress-reliever, there’s something about a little organization and cleaning that clears the mind and brings inner peace.

Secondly, I shared my favorite tech apps to organize the home! I hope you find them useful…it’s amazing how technology can improve our lives. The new year is the perfect time to get organized and I hope this gives you some added motivation! :)
